IP Week @ SG 2021

In slightly over a decade, IP Week@ SG (ie., Singapore) has become a leading global IP event, bringing together thought leaders from Asia and across the world as they interact with diverse legal professionals, innovators and representatives from various IP bodies and organizations. In many ways, the flourishing of IP Week@ SG mirrors the rise of Singapore as a leading regional and even international centre for IP activities.

Past IP Week@ SG events have been increasingly marked by a focus on the role of IP in innovation and development. Continuing in that vein, this year's flagship event of IP Week@ SG 2021, Global Forum on IP Conference, will take place on August 24th and 25th on a hybrid basis, centering on how enterprises can emerge stronger with IP in a post-Covid world.

The first day will be held at Marina Bay Sands, with live streaming to those participants unable to attend in person, while the second day is fully virtual. There will be no charge for virtual participants.

Two sessions highlight the in-person program on August 24th.

The first--“Charting our Future: Emerging Stronger through Innovation and IP”, will feature the heads of six IP national offices and regional and international organizations, including Mr. Daren Tang, Director General, WIPO.

The second will focus on "At the Negotiating Table: The Art of Successful IP Licensing”.

On August 25th, three sessions will take place:

1. Artificial Intelligence: A Game Changer for IP Regimes?”

2. “Intangible Assets: Powering the Future of Global Business Transactions”

3. “Innovation Elevated: Taking Your Business to the Next Level through IP Services”

Each of the sessions will consist of multiple presenters in order to provide participants, both in-person and digital, with a diverse set of perspectives on each of the topics addressed. Further information on the program and how to register can be found, here.

Additionally, an affiliated event, "Thinking Internationally about IP and ADR: What Every Lawyer and Corporate Counsel Should Know," will take place on August 19th
