Kenneth the Danish cameraman was there to film Wimmer.

I was just going out there, filming what happened, and then hopefully with Wide Eyed / Chris Riley etc we could put a film together. It was never envisaged that Wimmer could just walk off with my footage and sell it as part of his puff piece to Danish TV.

This is the YouTube film i originally made which has subsequently been judged an 'infringement' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdJnAt3ErEg the BBC Inside Out film was based on this... Wimmer appears at 05:34 proudly declaring that he's 'made world history'!!!

The BBC were happy to use the footage in full knowledge of the dispute.. in any event it was fair use about a matter in the public interest.Stephen Slaternoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5574479.post-78381785132823157332012-03-08T08:24:37.049+00:002012-03-08T08:24:37.049+00:00@Stephen Slater.
Thanks for the link to the BBC p...@Stephen Slater.
Thanks for the link to the BBC programme, but I'm not clear exactly where Mr Wimmer fits into the story. The court case implies that Wimmer organised the trip and that you were engaged by him solely to film him, yet the BBC story paints Mr Gifford as the villain, and the film also suggests that it was Mr Gifford who 'sacked' you before the end of the venture, making things even more confusing.
Clearly while there was a dispute going on over copyright of the footage of Mr Wimmer the BBC would not have wanted to use that bit, but from what the film shows, it does make Mr Wimmer's role as 'producer' as found by the court, to be somewhat of an exaggeration. I assume that he was just one of the punters and that he merely paid the £17,000 cost for both himself and you, and that the only other factor was that he had commissioned you specifically to film his jump. This sounds a long way from 'the person who makes arrangements for the film to be made' one associates with a Hollywood movie producer, and very much more like the father of the bride engaging a wedding videographer (I do not mean to be rude about your skills as a cameraman!).Andy Jnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5574479.post-69220026260256144462012-03-08T01:29:20.865+00:002012-03-08T01:29:20.865+00:00Isn't it rude to join in a public conversation...Isn't it rude to join in a public conversation about yourself?
