This seems to be an argument about their entitlement to an extension of time for their scrutiny before the Baroness had to get on with the job. Italy and Spain seem to be objective on principle. Would it be dignified for the UK to say that scrutiny committee couldn't quite manage to address the matter in time.Filemothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15735898485265104580noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5574479.post-20664499731044501312011-06-16T08:15:48.581+01:002011-06-16T08:15:48.581+01:00It's that simple - if the UK does not like the...It's that simple - if the UK does not like the proposal, it should join Italy and Spain and stay out ... and if the rest want to continue, let them!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5574479.post-62358315600023667682011-06-15T22:54:52.692+01:002011-06-15T22:54:52.692+01:00I have no sumpathy for Baroness Wilcox or any othe...I have no sumpathy for Baroness Wilcox or any other person who is incompetent in their position. I am sure that she is wonderful company over canapes and a glass of sherry, nonetheless. Vince Cable is the Secretary of State. There are 6 under-secretaries, of which Baroness Wilcox is one. Her portfolio is:

Covers all BIS business in the Lords, intellectual property (including the IPO).

So effectively she represents BIS business in the Lords and has responsibility for IP generally. Does this perhaps change the perception of whether she dropped the ball on perhaps the most important project she is asked to oversee.

It is worth noting that Stephen Phillips is a Conservative MP. That he attacked a fellow Conservative shows the depth of the problem. That it is a question of sovereignty may explain the MP's dismay.

If this was a sexier issue she'd be out on her ear.Aaron Woodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09187055280399284814noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5574479.post-56620757096810932872011-06-15T17:05:52.631+01:002011-06-15T17:05:52.631+01:00Oh dear, that was bumpy.Oh dear, that was bumpy.Mancunianhttp://www.mancunium-ip.co.uknoreply@blogger.com
