The IPKat Team: Arrivals, farewell, and news

Every now and then, The IPKat team welcomes new contributors, says thanks and goodbye to existing contributors, and shares some news concerning the Kats. Let’s find out more!

InternKats

The IPKat is delighted to welcome the following as new InternKats for the next six months.

Asude Sena Moya

Asude is a Turkish-qualified lawyer pursuing a Master's in Intellectual Property at the KDI School in Korea. Her interest in IP started during her senior year of law school, followed by continuous improvement. She believes we can improve ourselves if we work on a topic we are keen on. In addition to her passion for IP, she is also passionate about the Korean language and Analog photography. More details on Asude here.

Söğüt Atilla

Söğüt is a DPhil in Law candidate at the University of Oxford. Her research focuses on the pastiche exception to copyright law and on understanding its applicability to AI-generated art and music. Söğüt completed the MJur at the University of Oxford and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Law from Bilkent University. She has worked as an associate tutor at the University of Warwick, as a lecturer at the Fashion Law Institute İstanbul, and as the editor of a student-led online fashion law magazine. Söğüt is the author of the academic article Dealing with AI-generated works: lessons from the CDPA section 9(3), published by the Journal of Intellectual Property Law & Practice. More details on Söğüt here.

Goodbyes

The IPKat says goodbye to SpecialKat Tian Lu, who started as an InternKat in 2016 and became the first IPKat Asia Correspondent in 2017. We thank her for her contributions and support over several years and look forward to continuing our collaboration in some other capacity in the future.

News

SpecialKat Antonios Baris has completed his LLM in European Intellectual Property Law at Stockholm University and has joined the International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organisations (IFRRO), thus relocating from Stockholm to Brussels. If you also happen to be Brussels-based too, you know where to find him!

Our own Jocelyn Bosse, who started blogging on The IPKat as an InternKat, will now re-join the Team as a GuestKat: we look forward to her next posts!

No comments:

All comments must be moderated by a member of the IPKat team before they appear on the blog. Comments will not be allowed if the contravene the IPKat policy that readers' comments should not be obscene or defamatory; they should not consist of ad hominem attacks on members of the blog team or other comment-posters and they should make a constructive contribution to the discussion of the post on which they purport to comment.

It is also the IPKat policy that comments should not be made completely anonymously, and users should use a consistent name or pseudonym (which should not itself be defamatory or obscene, or that of another real person), either in the "identity" field, or at the beginning of the comment. Current practice is to, however, allow a limited number of comments that contravene this policy, provided that the comment has a high degree of relevance and the comment chain does not become too difficult to follow.
