According to various sources (here, here, and official ones here and here), the French senate has authorised the ratification of the London agreement or, as the French would have it, "l’accord sur l’application de l’article 65 de la convention sur la délivrance de brevets européens". Now all they have to do is deposit the instrument of ratification, and the agreement will be in force 4 months later. Depending on how quick they are, the IPKat calculates that this could be as soon as 1 February 2008.
The IPKat wonders: how exactly do you deposit an instrument of ratification?
It is rumoured that actual ratification will await a politically convenient moment.
ReplyDeletePerhaps when France have the EU presidency second half 2008?
