Every now and then, The IPKat team welcomes new contributors, says thanks and goodbye to existing contributors, and shares some news concerning the Kats. Let’s find out more!
GuestKats
The IPKat is delighted to welcome the following as new GuestKats for the next six months.
Anna Maria Stein – Anna Maria is an Italian-qualified lawyer and has been practising IP for over 20 years. She is Of Counsel at Eversheds Sutherland Italy in the IP and Commercial Department. Anna Maria deals with issues relating to trade marks, patents, designs, trade secrets, copyright and antitrust – both in and out of the courts. She likes to work in international environments, especially cross-border and multi-jurisdictional litigation. In recent years, Anna Maria has been selected for European Commission programmes to support SMEs and young Designers on IP, innovation, and digitalisation. You can learn more about Anna Maria here.
Marcel Pemsel - Marcel is a German-qualified lawyer. He works in the field of soft IP with a focus on trade marks, designs, and unfair competition. Marcel enjoys litigation, in particular. After his studies at the University of Hamburg and his traineeship at the Higher Regional Court of Hamburg, he completed his LL.M. at an even colder and windier place, namely Aberdeen in beautiful Scotland. Marcel has been working in the IP department of Gleiss Lutz since 2012. More information about Marcel can be found here.
Henry Yang - Henry is a European patent attorney at the Brussels office of Arnold & Siedsma. He also holds a Graduate Diploma in Law from City, University of London. Henry is interested in other areas of IP, just as in patent law. He is also keen on the interaction of IP law with non-IP law, such as in FRAND disputes. In his free time, he likes opera, travelling, and giggling at Dicky and Daffy Tottering. You can learn more about Henry here.
InternKats
The IPKat is delighted to welcome the following as new InternKats for the next six months.
Kevin Bercimuelle-Chamot - Kevin discovered IP while studying at the University of Southampton, UK. He had the opportunity to do work placements at a leading law firm specialised in fashion litigation & Warner Music France. Kevin is a legal counsel and a legal documentalist (IP/IT). He also often contributes to the Revue Lamy du Droit de l’Immateriel (Lamy Wolters Kluwer). More information about Kevin here.
Chiara Gallo - Chiara is a graduate of the Art, Business and Law LLM at the Queen Mary University of London and holds an LLB degree in European (and Comparative) Law from Maastricht University in the Netherlands. She is particularly interested in the relationship between cultural heritage and IP rights, how they interact and how they are protected in different jurisdictions. More details on Chiara here.

All comments must be moderated by a member of the IPKat team before they appear on the blog. Comments will not be allowed if the contravene the IPKat policy that readers' comments should not be obscene or defamatory; they should not consist of ad hominem attacks on members of the blog team or other comment-posters and they should make a constructive contribution to the discussion of the post on which they purport to comment.
It is also the IPKat policy that comments should not be made completely anonymously, and users should use a consistent name or pseudonym (which should not itself be defamatory or obscene, or that of another real person), either in the "identity" field, or at the beginning of the comment. Current practice is to, however, allow a limited number of comments that contravene this policy, provided that the comment has a high degree of relevance and the comment chain does not become too difficult to follow.
