PATENT LAW TREATY IN FORCE THIS APRIL


The IPKat learns that, following the deposit by Romania of its instrument of ratification on 28 January, the Patent Law Treaty will come into force on 28 April. The 10 countries whose ratifications have triggered this event are (in order of date of ratification) Moldova,Kyrgyzstan, Slovenia, Slovakia, Nigeria, Ukraine, Estonia, Denmark, Croatia and now Romania.

Drawn by a mutual respect for patenting and a deep hatred of unnecessary bureaucracy, the nations of the world unite to sign the PLT
