The FFII has informed the IPKat that the UK Patent Office is running a series of workshops on the issue of how to define what a "technical contribution" is in the field of computer-implemented inventions. This issue is the dividing line between patentable and non-patentable software and is the subject of a proposed EU Directive on the patentability of computer-implemented inventions.
The workshops will take place as follows
15 March – Coventry
17 March – Bolton
18 March – Bristol
4 April - Belfast
5 April - Glasgow
7 April - London
