Ananova reports that an exhibit entitled My Play-Station, by Japanese artist Tomoko Takahashi, has been put on display at London's Serpentine Gallery. This exhibit features 7,600 pieces of junk, including old washing machines, broken toys and a rusty muck-spreader. Curator Rochelle Steiner said:
"This show is giving these objects another use. Games come with rules, and she's really interested in how with rules comes order, how you break out of order, and the relationship between order and disorder."The IPKat likes the idea of defining an artwork in terms of rules that establish order: this is a very lawyer-ish thing to do. But Merpel asks, what about the rules of copyright? Do they apply here too?
