Freelance Assistant Project Manager – Starting immediately.
Own It, Creative London Intellectual Property Advice Service, needs a freelance project manager (two days per week, flexitime) to assist in the operation and delivery of Own It’s services to London’s creative practitioners and businesses. Own It is an exciting and high profile intellectual property advice service that addresses the growing needs of creative businesses as they attempt to make the most of their IP rights (copyright, design rights, trade marks and patents). Based at the London College of Communication and with support from Creative London, Own-It works across the sector, advising freelancers, entrepreneurs and small businesses on how to retain, defend, negotiate, value and exploit their intellectual property. It has developed partnerships with industry associations and leading law firms, in order to provide tailored support for enterprises as diverse as music labels and visual artists.
We need someone with a passion for IP and an understanding of the issues facing creative businesses to help plan and develop the services that Own It offers. You will have had experience of project delivery and development againstset targets, event planning and management and also be a self starter who can work independently, under pressure and in a small team. You will need to have knowledge of the creative industry sector, the support networks and be able to develop working relationships and establish rapport within the public and professional sector. You will need to be well organised, have excellent communication, presentation and networking skills, time and task management skills and be able to plan and prioritise effectively. You should show initiative, enthusiasm and integrity and have a friendly and positive attitude.
