CLA: Code, Copyright & Copyleft.
On 23 September 2026, the Competition Law Association (CLA) will hold the event “Code, Copyright and Copyleft: Navigating Software and AI in a Changing Legal Landscape”. The session will cover copyright in software, trends in AI software development, and copyleft in practice. Further details are here.Copyright and Human Creativity in the Age of AI.
As part of Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the conference Copyright and Human Creativity in the Age of AI will take place in Dublin on 14 October 2026. The program comprises, inter alia, an ethical framework for AI use, the development of a fair and robust EU market for licensing, and an effective enforcement framework. Keynote speakers include Henna Virkkunen (European Commission Executive Vice-President for Tech Sovereignty, Security & Democracy), Peter Burke (Minister for Enterprise), Niamh Smyth (Minister of State for Trade Promotion, AI and Digital Transformation), and Eleonora Rosati (Full Professor of IP Law at Stockholm University). Opportunities
ALAI European Authors’ Right Award.
The 9th edition of the ALAI European Authors’ Right Award, supported by GESAC, has been launched. The deadline for submitting applications is 13 November 2026. The prize is €2,000 and will be awarded to the best essay related to authors’ rights/copyright with a European dimension. Further details here.
