Nikola Tesla was not a Croatian inventor.
ReplyDeleteCheers.
Dear anonymous -- O yes he was. Your very own link continues: "Tesla was born on July 9th 1856 in Smiljan, Croatia near Gospić, Lika". Does that not make him Croatian?
ReplyDeleteDear Jeremy it looks like you made that assumption based on his place of birth which is now part of the Croatia. On the other hand there are few sentences and links on that page that may give you more details of his origin.
ReplyDeleteFor example if you start reading from the top of the page you will find this sentence:
"Nikola Tesla was a Serbian-American physicist, inventor, and electrical engineer of unusual intellectual brilliance and practical achievement."Also please note that both of his parents were not Croats.
Cheers!
If one's nationality is determined by one's place of birth, Nikola Tesla was a Croat :-)
ReplyDeleteIf Nikola was a serb then all americans are Iraqis
ReplyDeleteNikola Tesla was born in AUSTRIA not croatia(croatia excist only 15 years and Tesla vas born 150 years ago:-)). He was Serbian and his parents were ofsprings of well-known serbian orthodox preists. croatians believe that anything they even try to steal is "rightfully" theirs, sad but true!
ReplyDeleteWell, well of course Croatia exists OFFICIALLY since 1991 and OFFICIALLY Tesla was born in Austo-Ungarian Monarchy but THE PEOPLE who lived what is today Croatia (and in some other areas) - have carried the name CROATIANS since they were known. TESLA is everyones, he contributed to the technical DEVELOPMENT of mankind.
ReplyDeleteNikola Tesla- Serbian Inventor
ReplyDeleteNikola- Old Serbian Name
Tesla- Old Serbian Last Name
Milutin Tesla- Serbian Priest--Nikola's father
Duka Mandic Tesla- Born to Serbian Priest--Nikola's Mother
Birthplace: Lika (As the rest of Krajina, was majorly populated by Serbs until WW2, when the fascist Ustase slaughtered countless victims). Forever shall be Serbian territory.
Continue.............
Birthplace does not indicate ethnicity, what idiot told you that is stupid as you.
Born in Croatia (Serbian of course), does not mean hes even 0.1% croatian.
Moving on, the only reason Tesla said "proud of of Croatian fatherland and Serbian ethnicity or w/e" was because he never wanted to argue Croatians, who make up history as we go along.
and may you forever know that Tesla was a Serbian inventor, born in Serbian Krajina, from Serbian parents, not an American inventor as many stubborn hypocrits (americans/croatians) try to steal his identity, he was only american citizen nothing more, but thank you for american contribution for tesla's supplies.
Cheers.
Telsa- Mother and Father Serbians
ReplyDeleteLast and Frist name Serbian
Born in Serbian Krajina (forever shall be, more Serbs lived there than Croats, until their sneaky neighbours decided to cleanse Serbs from Krajina (1941-1995)
Basically, why don't Croats admit the truth, why fight for something that is not yours and lie that it is (that truly, only a sad nation like Croatia/Albania can do that)
if i'm right, and i am
ReplyDeleteThe Croats settled on the east coast of the Adriatic Sea and the Pannonian lands in early 7th century
so croats were there before serbians, and if you look through the history you'll see that i'm right
He is technically Croatian. You are determend wat country you are from by your birthplace.
