The IPKat team is sad to say farewell to GuestKat Rosie Burbidge, who is leaving the blog after 2.5 years. An expert in trade marks, designs and everything fashion, Rosie is now a partner at Gunnercooke and the author of European Fashion Law (EdwardElgar:2019). We wish her all the best for her future endeavours, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration with her in some other capacity. Thanks Rosie!

JIPLP's special INTA issue

On the occasion of the annual general meeting of the International Trademark Association the Journal of Intellectual Property Law & Practice published by Oxford University Press is proud to offer a free access to the “INTA Special Issue” – Volume 14, Issue 5. This issue features the Journal’s annual  EU trade mark round-up by Arnaud Folliard-Monguiral (EUIPO) and David Rogers (EPO) and lots of other trade mark-related content. World Anti-Counterfeiting Day

6 June 2019 was World Anti-Counterfeiting Day. On that date, the European Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) released a series of updated information on the global scope and scale of counterfeiting and piracy. The full report, executive summary, and infographics can be found here.

Job Opportunities

The Society of Audiovisual Authors (SAA) has a vacancy for a 4-month internship to join their team & support with monitoring EU institutions, industry and Member State activities in the fields of copyright & media policy, communications and events organisation. The University of Edinburgh is offering a full-time permanent IP lectureship. Applications close on the 28th of June and full details can be found here.

The University of Stirling is also seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Intellectual Property Law. Applications for this position close on the 8th of July and details can be found here.

Finally, for those looking to get into academia, UCL Laws is funding two PhD studentships to commence in September 2019, including a studentship on 'Copyright Law and the Challenges of the Digital Age'.
