All comments must be moderated by a member of the IPKat team before they appear on the blog. Comments will not be allowed if the contravene the IPKat policy that readers' comments should not be obscene or defamatory; they should not consist of ad hominem attacks on members of the blog team or other comment-posters and they should make a constructive contribution to the discussion of the post on which they purport to comment.
It is also the IPKat policy that comments should not be made completely anonymously, and users should use a consistent name or pseudonym (which should not itself be defamatory or obscene, or that of another real person), either in the "identity" field, or at the beginning of the comment. Current practice is to, however, allow a limited number of comments that contravene this policy, provided that the comment has a high degree of relevance and the comment chain does not become too difficult to follow.

Please tweak the template so that the full date of a posting appears along with the down-to-the-second time.
ReplyDeleteOK, I'll get used to the new layout, but please, would it be possible to modify the template to show the date on which a blogpost was published, instead of merely presenting the time of day?
ReplyDeleteThank you,
Timekeeper
Thanks for the feedback - we've now managed to fix this problem.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDelete15 years, that's a venerable 105 years for a Kat!
@Timekeeper: and it's just the first of its 7 lives :D
ReplyDeleteCould you also make sure that in the Google Groups emails, there is a direct link to the full post with comments. Some authors seem to do this, some don't, possibly due to using different software to post?
ReplyDeleteToo often I see a post I want to read in the Google Groups emails, and then have to search for it on the website in order to see the full post with comments.
I noticed a difference between ipkat.com and ipkitten.blogspot.com. Ipkat.com seems to use frames or something similar, so when you click on any given link, the URL stays the same (ipkat.com). This makes it more difficult to link to a post. Is this something you can change?
ReplyDeleteDear James and Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for your comments! We will have a look it!
@Anonymous, in the meantime, could you please share the posts through ipkitten.blogspot.com?
Many thanks!
