On 1 November 2016, the European Copyright Society (ECS) published an Opinion representing the independent views of the majority of ECS members regarding the case E-05/16, pending before the EFTA Court. The case involves approximately 90 applications for trademark registration of the works of the Norwegian artist Gustav Vigeland, which fell into the public domain in 2014.
